I like to call this smoothie recipe "summer peach pie" because the addition of a few key spices really does give it that peach pie taste, and who doesn't like the idea of a slice of peach pie all blended together in a glass and cooled down perfectly for a hot summer day treat that's actually healthy for you too?
Ingredients:
- Ripe peaches, sliced and peeled (about 1 1/2 whole peaches)
- Greek yogurt, plain or vanilla flavored (3/4 cup)
- Splash of Milk
- Healthy dollop of honey
- A couple pinches of nutmeg, cinnamon & allspice, mixed together
Combine yogurt, peaches, honey and a few pinches of your mixed spices in a blender until smooth. Add splashes of milk to thin out and blend mixture to your desired thickness.
Once fully blended, toss in a few ice cubes to thicken things back up a little, chill the temperature down and give your smoothie that nice little malted crunch-like consistency.
Pour blended mixture into glass and top with another healthy pinch of your spice mixture — it really gives it that "peach pie" feeling and taste.
Now sit back and enjoy the fruits of your labor on this hot summer day wherever you might be. You deserve it!
