Since it's Christmas week, we couldn't think of a better time to share the final shots from the holiday meal I had the opportunity to plan and cook with Relay Foods. We already shared the table decorations and place settings we came up with to set the scene, so I'm excited to finally share all the recipes.
All of the ingredients for the meal came directly from Relay Foods which were sourced locally and organically where possible. For a little last minute holiday inspiration or just plain good winter recipe ideas, find the full meal with all recipes and more photos from the day over on the Relay Foods Holiday menu page.
John M. Robinson, the Relay Foods Photography Manager came back to the house to capture all of the action; all of the beautiful shots included in today's post are John's work. As always, it's most fun for us to get a chance to see our home through someone else's lens.
For the main, I wanted to something special and we decided to go with a roasted leg of lamb, which came out of the oven sizzling and smelling so fresh:
All of the sides complemented each-other and added a touch of color, my favorite being these little candy coated cranberries I like to call "Rudolph's noses:"
The other pairings included roasted winter vegetables, sweet potato casserole, winter barley salad, green beans, and a sliced loaf of fresh Billy bread.
Some of my favorite shots are from cracking open the bubbly for the spiked citrus cranberry punch:
No meal is complete without some sweets — in this case, we had a spread of freshly bakes Christmas cookies:
Basil was right there in the middle of everything, as usual:
After all the recipes were made and the final shots were taken, we got to sit down and enjoy a Christmas meal a little early this year.
And that's how it all went down. A huge thanks goes out again to Relay Foods and John M. Robinson for capturing the day so beautifully in all of the photos.
Tomorrow, we'll be at it again and are looking forward to spending time with family and friends over the next several days. For all the recipes from this meal and more, check out the Christmas menu page over on Relay Foods.
