Happy Thanksgiving
We wanted to pop in to wish each of you a Happy Thanksgiving wherever you may be. Today we're spending time near Prince George, VA with family, friends — and of course food! Basil also wanted to pop in to let you know he's thinking about you too (along with all the turkeys and deer he's been spotting down here by the river)...
To give back in a small way, we spent the day yesterday preparing and cooking one of the three 17 pound heritage breed turkeys from Lockhart Family Farm that will be served alongside a full Thanksgiving spread for 3 local Richmond families in need today:
Find out more about the Co-op's Thanksgiving donation initiative, along with all the other local restaurants and food purveyors who donated their food, skills and time here.
With food and community so close to our hearts, Mary and I hope this becomes an annual tradition and one that we'll be able to continue to lend a helping hand.
P.S. For those of you that watch the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade, here's a fun article from The Wire with a big list of throwback parade balloon photos.

Happy Thanksgiving guys :) This year, among many things, I am grateful for your blog - keep up the good work!
ReplyDeleteWillow thank you so much for following along! We certainly love everything you bring to the blog as a reader!
DeleteAs always, enjoy your blog! Had a wonderful day with my children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren along with various other family members including an ex-husband that I get along with better now than when we were married!! LOL Hope your day was as great, and tell Basil that he would make a very handsome Christmas card if there were decorations on that fireplace behind him! :)
ReplyDeleteJudy so happy to hear! Yes if we would have been a little more strategic that would have made a beautiful Christmas card. We will have to plan for that next year!
DeleteMornin'! Thank you for your blog posts. Found you through your mercury glass post. I have a strange question. I was wondering what kind of camera and lens you use. Your photographs are beautiful. Thanks and Happy Holidays!
