In our goals and resolutions post from earlier in the week, we mentioned toying with the idea of a weekly blog roundup of all the things we're digging at the moment — so today we're doing just that! We figure a roundup post can be a good way to share all the smaller things we're into (or fancying, hence the series name) that might not fit into a single post for one reason or another. Sometimes there might be a long list of randomness, other times it might be a single gem — whatever the case, here's what we're into right now.
-Mary's new Instagram hashtag obsession: #weimcrime
-Speaking of Instagram, we're loving Statigram. It syncs into your Instagram account and lets you see photos in all sorts of new ways online — you can even look up hashtags like #weimcrime (Mary made me say it). You can also see stats from your own photos and make cool things like the 2013 video roundup we shared in our own feed.
-We've raved about SproutRobot before, but thought it was worth mentioning again at the start of the new year. This site lets you know what plants to start and when, all based on your zip code. For example, we know we should be starting our broccoli seeds the week of January 20th here in Richmond. Fun!
-Beautifully designed calendar art for seasonal vegetable gardening & seasonal bee-friendly plants.
-These olive tree seedlings from the Garden & Gun Mercantile Shop are making it hard for us to come up with a reason not to try growing an olive tree this year.
-Looking for a place to visit in 2014? Well, our hometown of Richmond, Virginia made Frommer's' Top Destinations for 2014. Come see what this southern river city has to offer!
-Did you read the New Year's resolution for an anteater? If you're an ant, I would look out!
-Basil wanted to give little background on the Weimaraner breed. The only thing Basil would argue, is the fact that he enjoys the sights and sounds of being a city dog. More dog breed videos — goodbye next hour of your free time.
-And guess what? I'm over on E.A.T. kicking off a weekly roundup series called Feasting on Friday. Check it out here.
So, that's what we're thinking about this week and we hope you have a wonderful weekend. We're looking forward to sharing more of the little things that make us laugh or go hmmmm as this series takes better shape. There's only one question left — what are you fancying right now?
