So, what have we been up to behind the scenes? Simply put, a petwear collection. "Basil's Closet," what we've lovingly coined the collection, will be a limited run dog clothing line inspired by Basil's most popular Instagram pic from this past Christmas Day.
Here's the background — early this year after the above Instagram pic was posted, we were approached by an up and coming sustainably-minded dog lifestyle company about the idea of developing a complete line of dog clothing, accessories and toys. Each would be inspired by Basil and centered around different holidays like Valentine's Day, Halloween and Christmas, to name a few.
So far it's been really fascinating getting a behind the scenes look at how dog clothes go from concept to design and production, then eventually come to life:
We're eager to test out different looks like classic sweaters and jackets to more festive styles like the tacky Christmas sweatshirt that sparked this new idea. The design options have really been limitless and the hardest part of the process has been narrowing down exactly what we want to launch with.
