The same way our home is in a continual state of evolution, we felt it was time for a refreshed look right here on our website too. You may have already noticed a few changes around here and today we're eager to share more about the new look & feel of 17Apart.com as well as get your feedback on the new design.
Our goal with the updates was to create a cleaner overall look along with much easier navigation and access to the content and projects you're most interested in. The new design is also completely responsive, which means it will meet you where you are. Simply put, everything should be right at your fingertips no matter how you like to check in on us.
We hope you'll please have a look around and let us know if you find anything awry, or that could flow a little better. A few new features we're excited for are the carousel where we plan to highlight seasonal and popular posts, and the navigation bar which now includes a category dropdown for quickly jumping over to the topics you're most interested in, be it DIY, home projects & decor, gardening, or recipes.
If you're looking for something in particular, we've included a search bar in the navigation that's accessible from every page and similarly, have provided easier access to social links so you can keep up with us just the way you like to. Facebook is good for daily photos, Instagram is where we share all the behind the scenes action and Pinterest is where you'll find me collecting endless inspiration for future projects. And! If you never want to miss a post, you can subscribe to receive new ones as they're published directly in your inbox by using the email field in our sidebar (don't worry, we won't share or even see your email address) ------->

We'd love to know what you think and your feedback on what else you'd like to see here. A few ideas I'm dreaming up are subcategories for each of the broader content topics and an introduction to a home tour section for room by room sources and before/after photos.
For fellow bloggers or small website owners, we found this new template on Etsy — there are so many great designs available for both Blogger and Wordpress! We found the one we love from Fearne Creative Design, who's been simply amazing to work with.
The photographs in today's post were captured by our talented friend and photographer, Ali Williamson of Alisandra Photography.
