I even painted the hearth and firebox black to give the fireplace a modern update.
For the finishing touch, we just needed a fireplace screen to officially light up the first fire. We landed on this one, a flat style with a brass handled frame and love how the flush feel of it brings a touch of "rustic meets modern charm" to the brick chimney. When it comes to outfitting the cottage, there's still much to do, yet warming up by the fire makes the magic in this home come alive. I know we'll think back on our first year here fondly when we had little more than a few pieces of furniture and a crackling fire to cozy up next to.
